Set for a near-future launch in the Boston suburbs, Black Blanket is a modern children's maker space built around the simple philosophy: Make. Play.

Conceived as part wonderland, part workshop, the brand reimagines creative play as something tactile, intentional, and deeply human—an environment where children and caregivers can create, explore, and gather together.

The identity was designed to differentiate itself from the visual conventions of the children's enrichment space. Rather than relying on familiar cues of rounded typography, primary colors, and overtly playful graphics, Black Blanket embraces a richer visual language rooted in craftsmanship, materiality, and editorial sophistication. The resulting system balances warmth with restraint, creating an experience that feels equally inviting to children and adults.

At its core, Black Blanket is a world built not merely as a visual identity. Every decision, from the tactile material palette to the modular graphic system, was made to reinforce a singular idea: that creativity flourishes when making and play are treated not as separate activities, but as inseparable parts of everyday life.
